Super Mega Ultra Uber MUSE LIVE AT CARDIFF COUNTDOWN T-minus 1

FACT: When he was but a small child, Matt and his family would use Ouija Boards. One time Matt asked the question “Is there life after death” and apparently the answer was “he who seeketh knowledge seeketh sorrow”.

Super Mega Ultra Uber MUSE LIVE AT CARDIFF COUNTDOWN T-minus 5

FACT: The first proper song, ever properly recorded, on a proper Muse CD, was Overdue. It appeared on the Muse EP (earlier songs such as ‘Jimmy Kane’ were recorded at Chris’ house for the “This Is A MUSE Demo” tape, but that was never comercially released so it doesnt count)

Super Mega Ultra Uber MUSE LIVE AT CARDIFF COUNTDOWN T-minus 6

FACT: Chris almost choked to death on the plastic lid off a Smarties tube. He was chewing the empty packet (for reasons best known to himself) and the lid popped off into his throat. Matt, something of a first aid expert, was just about to administer Heimlich when Chris coughed it back up again.

Foolish, young bassist.

Super Mega Ultra Uber MUSE LIVE AT CARDIFF COUNTDOWN T-minus 8

FACT: Chris is a massive Staus Quo fan and once performed a soundcheck with them whilst their guitarist was stuck at their hotel. This was the first time Chris (or any of the band) played on a huge speaker system, as Muse was still in its early days.

FACT: Previous incarnations (names, fools) of Muse include Rocket Baby Dolls, Gothic Plaque and Carnage Mayhem. A quote from Dom on the matter:

“…they all had death metal names but we played cheesy pop.”
